DRIVE a Stake through the bookies’ hearts. STAKE ACCLAIM is in the form of his life after winning at Ascot and following up with a close third off this mark at Windsor last time out.
This is a tricky in-between trip for these sprinters but he’s won here over 6f and has struck over the minimum distance too.
He goes in any ground, handles a big field and should give us a good run for our money.
Lexington Abbey has been knocking on the door with a couple of near-misses at Ascot.
Ryan Moore is an eyecatching booking for Kevin Ryan’s flyer who should keep out of the scrum by going from the front.
Vibrant Chords ran a cracker behind the classy Desert Law over 5f here last time.
He has no problem seeing out this distance and should be competitive again even up the weights.
Harry Hurricane has hit the frame in this for the past two seasons and is only 1lb higher than last year’s third.
This is much more his level than the Stewards’ Cup he was outclassed in last time. He could hit the frame again at a big price.

ACLAIM your winnings. Martyn Meade’s flyer almost carried off a Group 1 prize at Deauville last time and has already tasted success at this level.
That came at Newmarket last season when he ran away with the Challenge Stakes in fine style.
Connections have not been sure of his best trip this term but he’s improved as the campaign has gone on with that French effort coming after an encouraging run at Glorious Goodwood.
He was staying on over an extended 6f at Deauville so this distance should be right up his street.
Home Of The Brave finished ahead of Aclaim in Sussex where he handled the undulating track best of the pair.
He has been lightly raced this season with a Listed win at Leicester and solid victory at Newmarket under his belt. He needs to find a bit more in this company but looks capable of doing so.
Nathra had to settle for second in a Sandown Group 3 last time over a mile but looked better over this trip when third at Newbury last month.
She gets a handy weight allowance from the colts and could make that count.

RED MIST can descend on his rivals. This son of Frankel was in front a yard past the line at Newbury last time out.
That was a Listed race and he made up a lot of ground quickly in the manner of a very nice colt. He built on his debut victory at Sandown where he handled the cut in the ground well.
He looks open to plenty more improvement on just his third run.
Mythical Magic has won both his outings, including in Listed class at Deauville last time out. He had to battle right to the line there and the effort should bring him on nicely.
That win came over this distance and he’s another nice prospect. Mark Johnston has an exciting juvenile in Dream Today.
He scorched home to win on his debut at York last time despite being green in the closing stages.
You would expect him to improve a bundle on that and it would be no surprise if he was good enough to take this.
Aidan O’Brien sends over a couple with Mendelssohn looking the clear pick. He won a maiden easily enough at The Curragh last time and deserves this sharp step up in class.

DIVE into the Ocean. CRYSTAL OCEAN looked a superstar in the making when running away with the Gordon Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last time out.
He travelled strongly before picking up and leaving his rivals for dead in a matter of strides.
That was over 1m4f but he’s bred to improve for this longer distance, which only underlines his chances.
He advertised his class when third in the Dante at York in May and many were disappointed that he couldn’t win the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.
It was far from a poor run to finish third in a race that turned into a bit of a sprint after an early dawdle. He left that behind last time and can take another step forward today.
Capri shocked Cracksman in the Irish Derby and is another bred to excel over this distance. Trainer Aidan O’Brien is leaving nothing to chance with a couple of pacemakers who should set the race up well.
Stradivarius stays all day and beat Big Orange in the Goodwood Cup.
It’s a concern that Frankie Dettori has chosen to ride stablemate Coronet instead but he looks a progressive stayer.
Defoe won his fourth race on the bounce at Newbury last time and stays well. This is a lot tougher but he can’t be written off.

VISCOUNT can take the biscuit. VISCOUNT LOFTUS has a plum inside draw which makes all the difference in sprints around the Roodee.
He shot out and went to the front when winning at Pontefract last time and there’s no better man than Franny Norton to pull off those tactics at Chester.
He has plenty of zip for this trip and trainer Mark Johnston thought enough of him to have a go at Royal Ascot’s Norfolk Stakes on the back of his maiden win at Yarmouth.
On form, his main rivals have a wide draw to overcome. Simmy’s Copshop has been running well in better races than this and goes on any ground.
Harrogate has looked a useful prospect when going close in a couple of maidens. He looked a future winner when second at Ripon last time out but has a tall order from stall eight.
Falabelle is dropping down from a York Listed race where he was far from disgraced. She looks on a fair mark and could be in the frame.
2.40
SOLDIER can fire. SOLDIER OF FORTUNE should find this a lot easier than the Ebor at York where he got lost in the traffic last time.
He’s much better judged on his excellent handicap win at Glorious Goodwood where he handled the difficult track well.
It was a similar story at Epsom when he took another big prize at the Derby meeting. This step into Listed company looks a wise move and he’ll battle right to the line.
Duretto went close in the Group 3 Ormond Stakes here last time out. It’s a slight worry that he’s not been seen since that May effort but we know he handles the track and is dropping in class.
Across The Stars missed the break at Windsor last time and could never get into that Listed race.
His finest hour came with a big win at Royal Ascot last year and he’s still got few miles on the clock for his age. He likes this trip and could easily bounce back.
My Reward enjoyed himself when winning around here last time out and can finish ahead of Rich Legacy who struggled at Goodwood last time.

DAN’S desperate for another victory. DAN TROOP was an impressive winner over course and distance last time where he was an impressive seven lengths clear of his rivals.
The ground was similar to today’s and he has touched lucky with the stall one draw. He gets on well with today’s claiming rider and even a sharp rise in the weights will struggle to stop him.
Kenstone is another who loves it around here as he showed when winning well over this trip last time out. He’s been upped 8lb for that comfortable win and will have no problem with the ground.
From a decent draw he looks the main danger.
King’s Pavilion is another runner coming here on the back of a good win. This trip suits well and any more rain would only be a help because he loves the mud.
Provided he’s okay after just three days off he should be competitive again.
Ice Slice raced alone at Lingfield last time which explains his poor run. He had earlier gone well over a mile at Haydock and has had some help from the handicapper.
