REDCAR

KYLLACHY DRAGON gets the nod in a trappy opener. He showed enough at Beverley last time when second to suggest he can win a maiden like this.

He stayed on well there so should have no problem getting home in these pretty testing conditions.

1.50

PLACEBO EFFECT has been the model of consistency all season and was again in good form when third at Doncaster last time out.

He has no problem with this distance and likes some cut in the ground. He’s had a little help from the handicapper and should be on the premises.

GEOFF POTTS found things happening a little too quickly over 5f at Carlisle last time and will be much happier back over this distance.

He won on his debut for Richard Fahey at Leicester last month when last tackling 6f and still looks on a fair enough mark.

2.55

SHORT WORK was a close-up third in a better race than this at York last time and will enjoy this drop back in trip.

He had a bit up his sleeve when scoring at Pontefract earlier and will have no problem with the ground. From a decent draw, he should go well.

KYNREN looked a fair prospect when winning on his handicap debut at Newmarket last time and can improve past a 6lb rise in the weights.

He kept pulling out more to win over 7f there so this mile should be no problem.

The ground is fine and there should be more to come.

VAN VELDE caught the eye when second on his all-weather debut at Newcastle and looked equally at home on turf when filling the runner-up spot at Beverley last time out.

That was after seven months off and being gelded so there’s every chance he’ll come on for the run.

4.30

STANARLEY PIC did well to win over course and distance last time and should be on the premises again in what looks a pretty weak race, even for the grade.

The give in the ground did no harm that day so he should appreciate conditions again here.

3.25 Redcar - Kynren: 'There should be plenty more to come'

5.05

Jockeyship could make all the difference in this wide-open apprentices’ race and Connor Murtagh can coax a tune out of KOMMANDER KIRKUP.

He’s far from reliable but his plummeted down the weights and ran well when third in a much stronger race than this at Pontefract four starts ago.

So he’s capable of landing a blow at a big price if this is a going day.
