Roger Varian’s St Leger flop Defoe to undergo tests following his disappointing run at Doncaster racecourse

Varian's three-year-old looked to have a big chance heading into the final Classic of the season but he managed to beat just one horse home at Doncaster

ROGER VARIAN will not run Defoe again this season following his flop in Saturday's William Hill St Leger.

Varian was disappointed with his run and Defoe is set to undergo a number of tests to determine if something was amiss.

Varian said: "We were very disappointed, but I don't think he gave his true running.
