Sir Michael Stoute’s Ulysses heads a field of 20 left in contention for Sunday’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly racecourse
Sir Michael Stoute's colt is due to retire at the end of the season but is set to line up at Chantilly on Sunday where he is already second favourite for the race
ULYSSES, Highland Reel and Order Of St George are among 20 horses to stand their ground following the first forfeit stage for Sunday's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly.
Sir Michael Stoute's Ulysses has struck twice at Group 1 level this season, landing the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown and the Juddmonte International at York.
He is second-favourite across the boards behind John Gosden's brilliant filly Enable, who will need to be supplemented for the race on Wednesday at a cost of 120,000 euros.
As expected, Gosden has withdrawn his Great Voltigeur and Prix Niel hero Cracksman.
