Horse racing tips: Kelso and Uttoxeter – Templegate’s top betting preview for Sunday, October 8

TEMPLEROSS (nap) is the boss in Uttoxeter’s 3.30.

He developed into a useful hurdler last season. After winning a couple of novice races he finished runner-up behind smart Modus in the Lanzarote and hit the frame in a good Ascot handicap.

There’s a fair chance he’ll be even better over fences.

MAYO STAR (3.50 Kelso, nb) was progressive in bumpers.

He took another step forward for his promising hurdles debut and the step up in trip is sure to suit Malcolm Jefferson’s well-bred youngster.

Jefferson should also hit the target with DOUBLE W’S (4.20 Kelso, treble).

He was a useful novice last season and I’m expecting him to carry on improving.
