MAN LOVES CHELTENHAM

Horse racing tips: Cheltenham, Doncaster, Newbury and Wolverhampton – Steve Mullen’s betting preview for Friday, October 27

Steve Mullen guides you through Friday's racing from Cheltenham, Doncaster, Newbury and Wolverhampton.

CHELTENHAM

BRILLARE MOMENTO won well on her last visit here as she won a Listed event in April. She has been off since a more disappointing effort at Newton Abbot in May where she was second

despite being sent off at 1-3. She has gone well fresh in the past and, with conditions to suit, looks hard to beat.

SCEAU ROYAL was straight out of the top drawer over hurdles and has been touted as a future chaser for a while by Alan King. This 2m trip was his best over the smaller obstacles. Given he was

good enough to hold his own in the Champion Hurdle, he will take all the beating here.

This looks tough to fathom and GET HOME NOW can make his low weight pay. He comes here on the back of three wins in lesser company but he’s been scoring with plenty left in the tank. He

gets on well with today’s excellent claiming rider and they can give us a good run.

3.45

BLACK CORTON has not done much wrong in his chasing career so far with four wins from five outings. This is a step up in class after winning at Newton Abbot last time but there should be a

lot more to come. He shapes as though this longer distance will be fine too.

4.20

SPORTING BOY was an impressive winner at Market Rasen at the weekend and can score again under a penalty. This slightly longer distance won’t be a problem and he still has few miles on the

clock over fences.

4.55

SLATE HOUSE cost connections a hefty sum for a jumper after winning a point-to-point in Ireland last year. While that in itself doesn’t mean much, he is bred to be classy and this looks a

below-par contest for Cheltenham.

5.30 - Mullen's star bet

MAN OF PLENTY has come right down the weights and put in his best run for a long time when second at Chepstow last time out. He has gone close on his two other runs here and is booked for another podium finish at least.
