Matt Chapman is the face of racing on ITV - and is here to pick you a winner

IT'S Hennessy day at Newbury on ITV - well it's not called that anymore but to you and me it's Hennessy day!

Throw in the reappearance of Champion Hurdle winner Buveur d'Air at Newcastle and we have much to look forward to and that's not even to mention Fairyhouse tomorrow.

The ITV action starts at Newbury at 1.50pm, with a handicap hurdle over an extended 2m4f.

The one open to improvement is recent Lingfield winner JABULANI who goes for the in form Nigel Twiston-Davies camp. Jamie Bargary taking off 3lb is a bonus.

The road to Cheltenham starts HERE.

Bet £10 or more at any of the races at and Sun Bets will give you a £2 free bet to use at the Cheltenham Festival.

Next up at Newbury is the race formerly known as the Gerry Feilden, a Listed handicap hurdle  over an extended 2m.

Only seven runners due to take part and I will go with MOUNT MEWS to be a winner for the North. He was never placed to challenge on his comeback and should be fitter here.

An Aintree second is decent form.

The big betting race of the day comes up at 3pm, with the Grade 3 handicap chase we all know as the Hennessy. I think this renewal lacks a young star, but it's still competitive.

I'm going to have a few quid on VYTA DU ROC, who is at the right end of the handicap and stays strong.

He had the perfect prep in a handicap hurdle at Aintree last month, and ended up last season with a second in the former Whitbread at Sandown.

He's a bit in and out, but has taken on some of the best about and if on top of his game has every chance.

Finally at Newbury a handicap chase at 3.35pm over an extended 2m. BABY KING is lightly raced and only wins by narrow margins so the handicapper has not been too tough.

He jumps and stays well for Tom George who is going well.

Matt Chapman's TV tips

1.50 Newbury - Jabulani: 'The stable are in cracking form and Jamie Bargary is a good booking'

2.10 Newcastle - Buveur d'Air: 'Should romp home! Simple'

2.25 Newbury - Mount Mews: 'I'm expecting a big improvement from his seasonal return!'

3.00 Newbury - Vyta Du Roc: 'At the right end of the handicap and is a really strong stayer'

3.20 Newcastle - Wakanda: 'Back down the weights a little bit and is a sound jumper on a going day'

3.35 Newbury - Baby King: 'Lightly raced and the handicapper has not been too tough'

Over at Newcastle the Fighting Fifth Hurdle is at 2.10pm, and of course BUVEUR D'AIR should win in a romp.

I'm amazed he's not shorter in the betting rather than about 1-4. It's about whether he falls over!

ITV also show the Rehearsal Chase over nearly 3m at 3.20pm. This was once a Gold Cup trial but now is just a handicap chase that takes a bit of getting.

I'll have a few quid each-way on WAKANDA, who is back down the weights a little bit and is a sound jumper on a going day. Sue Smith's hope could run well at decent odds.

So best of luck and hope for some Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
