Cheltenham Festival contender Altior could have a prep run in the Game Spirit Chase at Newbury
Trainer Nicky Henderson has raised the possibility of Altior running at Newbury although he could head straight to the Cheltenham Festival without a run
ALTIOR is on track for the Cheltenham Festival next year, and could make his reappearance in February.
Nicky Henderson's chaser has been out of action since needing a wind operation earlier this month which led to him being withdrawn from the Tingle Creek.
Connections had originally suggested he may head straight to the Champion Chase at Cheltenham but they also have the option of giving him a prep run.
Henderson said: "He would have probably started today but we've had a lot of snow and he will probably start back tomorrow.
