STAR ASCENDING continues in excellent form and had plenty to spare when winning over course and distance last time out.
A 6lb rise in the weights shouldn’t put the brakes on and he has a decent draw too.
Ingleby Spring usually goes well around here so is worth forgiving a modest effort last time out.

CAGED LIGHTNING hasn’t won for a while but has gone well on most of his runs around here, picking up a couple of wins. He’s just 2lb higher than when winning at Chelmsford two starts ago and stays well.
Cousin Khee is a consistent performer at this level and wasn’t beaten far here last time out.
COEUR DE LION showed up well in some hot handicaps towards the end of last season on turf. He was a close second in the Cesarewitch Trial at Newmarket before finishing third in a big field at York.
He’s had a couple of modest spins over hurdles since and this looks a wise move switching to the level again.

MISTER MUSIC came back from a break to win in style over course and distance last time out. He gets on well with today’s young rider and they won’t be far away from 6lb higher in the weights.
Queens Royale goes off the same mark as her third in Mister Music’s race and has place claims again.

VOLATILE gets the nod in a tight race. He won really well at Chelmsford last time and when this distance suited ideally. If he takes to this slower surface, he’ll take all the beating.
Light Laughter has some decent form in Ireland and may have needed the run at Lingfield last time out.

ARCHIMEDES didn’t enjoy himself over 6f here last time and this drop back to his best trip is a smart move. He’s just 2lb higher than winning over course and distance last week and only the lack of a break is a concern.
Broadhaven Honey is another with her ideal conditions and should be competitive.
