CAFE AU LAIT has been running really well without getting the victory his form deserves. He was beaten in a tight finish over course and distance last time but can’t be accused of not giving his all.

He still looks on a fair mark and can go close again. Scartare was a solid second at Lingfield last time and will appreciate conditions.

GRAND INTRODUCTION enjoyed his last trip here when he won by an easy six lengths. He carries a 7lb penalty for that victory over this trip but it shouldn’t put the brakes on.

BRAVENTURA stays all day which is an ideal attribute for Towcester in soft conditions. She was a game third at Ludlow last time off a similar mark and will just keep galloping.

Dark Aster showed some promise when third at Warwick latest and is another open to improvement.

DELIRE D’ESTRUVAL was good enough to win a Listed hurdle at Aintree in November before running to a similar level when upped in distance. This drop back to 2m looks a sensible move and he will relish the conditions.

Harefield put in a rare poor effort at Plumpton last time but earlier won nicely at Warwick and must be feared.

SPIRIT OF HALE has been knocking on the door and was cost a win at Catterick last time by a couple of errors. He’s still learning the chasing game so his jumping should improve to help him take this.

How’s My Friend came off a long losing streak when scoring here latest and could go in again now he’s in the winning groove.
