Bryony Frost to team up with Paul Nicholls’ Black Corton again at Ascot this Saturday
Frost has been brilliant this season as she continues to impress but Nicholls feels being champion jockey may be out of her reach
JUMP racing’s golden girl Bryony Frost faces another big weekend but boss Paul Nicholls doubts she could ever be champion jockey.
Frost has been one of the stars of the season with a string of Saturday winners and her enthusiastic post-race patter.
She will ride crack novice Black Corton in Saturday’s Sodexo Reynoldstown Chase at Ascot.
The pair landed the Grade 1 Kauto Star Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day to make it six wins from seven races since they team up together last summer.
Frost said: “He’s awesome. Jumping is the name of the game and he jumps - he was electric at Kempton. I don’t know why we get on so well we just do.”
The 22-year-old could also team up with Frodon in the Grade 1 Betfair Ascot Chase after their impressive Cheltenham handicap success last month.

Nicholls said: “It’s quite possible she could ride Frodon.
“He did go particularly well for her the last day and she probably deserves to ride him but I just want to look at the other meetings first.
“She rides very well and horses run for her. She’s been given the opportunity to ride some really good horses and she delivers.
“But she does need to be looked after a little bit - she doesn’t want to be getting loads of falls.

“If she can pick and choose she’ll end up riding 50 winners every year - hopefully good winners.
“I think there’s no chance whatsoever of her being champion jockey – it will be hard for Josephine Gordon on the Flat.
“Jumping you have to have six rides every day like McCoy had and then deal with the falls. Physically it is tough for the girls to deal with.”
