MOUNT RUSHMORE has gone close on both his hurdles runs, beaten less than a length each time. He saw out this sort of trip at Chepstow last time and wouldn’t have to improve to win this.

SMART BOY has hardly put a foot wrong lately and was a solid second at Kempton last time after an earlier third at Huntingdon. He takes a slight drop in distance here which shouldn’t be an issue.

CAVIAR D’ALLEN comes from a family that features plenty of chase winners and he’s shown plenty of promise as a hurdler. He was a close-up second here last time over a similar distance and it’s interesting to see him thrown into a handicap for his chase debut.

MARTABOT wasn’t beaten far here last time over 2m3f where the trip seemed to stretch him a little. The drop back to 2m looks a wise move and he could easily outrun his odds from a fair mark.

CROWN HILL took a step forward over fence when beaten a neck at Doncaster last time out. He battled well to the line there and a 2lb rise in the weights looks fair. He won’t mind the ground and should see out the trip with no problems.

BROTHER NORPHIN has been knocking on the door and finished a good second at Lingfield last time out. That was over this sort of distance as was his third at Towcester the run before. He looks on a fair mark and should go close.
