NOT RETIRED

Popular chaser Cue Card could run again this season

Colin Tizzard has not made the widely-expected decision to retire Cue Card following his lacklustre showing at the Cheltenham Festival, instead leaving the door open for another run from his immensely popular 12-year-old before the season finishes.

Cue Card pulled up today at Cheltenham and it could edge him nearer to retirement

CUE CARD has not been retired just yet and could run again before the season finishes.

Colin Tizzard's popular chaser was pulled-up in the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and many expected retirement to follow.

However, that decision has yet to be made and Tizzard has not ruled out giving his 12-year-old the chance to bounce back from his disappointing Cheltenham effort.

Options at Aintree and Sandown remain feasible targets for Cue Card, who has won nine Grade 1s in his brilliant career and amassed just shy of £1,500,000 in prize money.

Tizzard said: "The horse is absolutely fine and he's not retired. All I'll say is that we said we were going to run him until the end of the season and nothing has changed."
