Master The World looking to win Easter Classic all on his own in rematch with Mr Owen
Elsworth's Winter Derby winner Master The World will be hoping to gain another valuable victory at Lingfield on Good Friday, although his trainer hopes he won't require assistance from the stewards this time.
DAVID ELSWORTH is hoping Master The World can back up his Winter Derby win with the Betway Easter Classic at Lingfield on Friday, although he hopes the stewards won't need to get involved this time.
The trainer believes justice was done when his seven-year-old was awarded the Winter Derby by the stewards due to interference by David Simcock's Mr Owen, who was first past the post.
With £200,000 on offer, the pair renew their rivalry again and Elsworth said: "Objections and reversal of placings are always very complex, but on that occasion I don't think there was any doubt about it. He was travelling much quicker than the other horse and he ran into a brick wall, really.
"He has won the Churchill Stakes round there as well and is obviously suited by the track. The signals we are getting are encouraging and we are as optimistic as we dare to be.
"He has always been a very good horse and he is a magnificent-looking gelding. He has given the owners a great deal of fun and picked them up a lot of money."
Simcock is hoping Mr Owen can gain his revenge.

"He's been running well. I saw him the other day, I didn't ride him, but he looked very well," Doyle told At The Races.
"I rode him at Lingfield, the same track and distance, and while we had a nice draw, we got squeezed out and the race was a nightmare and he still managed to finish second.
"He went on to win at Wolverhampton after that and was second in the Winter Derby Trial.
"The only thing is it is not an ideal track for him. If it was at Newcastle it would suit him better. I don't think he's in love with coming down the hill, but if he gets a clean run he's capable of a big run."
Hugo Palmer's Star Archer and Jeremy Noseda's Abe Lincoln are two more interesting contenders in the 10-runner field.
