FRANKIE BALLOU has been in cracking form at Sedgefield with two wins and a second from his past three runs. They were all around this trip with some cut in the ground and this looks a drop in class from his runner-up effort last time. He’s sneaking up the weights but sets the standard.

SO SATISFIED has been given a little rest since his unusually poor run at Musselburgh last time out. He had earlier been in rattling form with a second at the same track followed by a game win at Catterick. That was over further than this so he’ll have no problem staying despite the soft ground.

CASA TALL made his UK debut in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham last time and it was no disgrace to finish midfield in that hot contest. He has some decent form in France, including a couple of hurdles wins at around this distance. He will find this novice contest a lot easier than a Festival handicap, that’s for sure.

SANDHURST LAD looks due another win after a string of solid efforts at Plumpton. He’s just 4lb higher in the weights than his last win and this distance shouldn’t be an issue. Some give in the ground suits and Richard Johnson’s booking catches the eye.

WITH DISCRETION didn’t have to get out of first gear to win on her hurdling debut at Towcester last time out. She stayed on strongly over 2m5f there and will need further in time. For now there should be plenty of improvement to come ad she wouldn’t need much to strike again.

TARA WELL is largely consistent and ran her best race for a while when second at Uttoxeter last time out. She stays well and likes cut in the ground so should have no problem with these conditions. Today’s claiming rider gets on well with her and they won’t be far away.

SHAUGHNESSY should have won by now given he’s finished a close second on his two bumper runs to date. He improved a few pounds from his debut when runner-up at Fontwell last time where he left his challenge until a little too late.
