ITV racing tips: Chester – Matt Chapman’s top betting preview for today’s TV racing

Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV's Matt Chapman runs you through Friday's racing live on ITV4

HERE we go again!

It's the final day of the Chester May meeting, and of course this afternoon is all about the big betting race, the Chester Cup.

I'll get to that huge handicap in a minute, but first let's see what damage we can do before the finale Friday.

The 1.50pm is an extended 7f handicap. A big field of 16 goes to post, although there is sure to be one none runner to change the each-way betting terms!

The draw is crucial here, and I like GOSSIPING, who has been in terrible form of late.

He's down the handicap a little, though, and is in the perfect position to just sit behind the leaders who are sure to go a strong pace.

The make up is perfect for a return to form for Gary Moore's inmate.

Next it's the Group 2 Huxley Stakes over an extended 1m2f at 2.25pm. This looks for the taking for EMINENT, the former Derby fourth and Irish Champion Stakes third.

This race has long been the target, and he should go from the front and make all for Martyn Meade and Oisin Murphy.

Matt Chapman's TV Tips

1.50 Chester - Gossiping: 'Should have the race run to suit him and could bounce back to form'

2.25 Chester - Eminent: 'This looks his for the taking, the one to beat'

3.00 Chester - Battersea: 'Gets cheekpieces for the first time and drops in trip'

3.35 Chester - Who Dares Wins: 'Fourth in this last year and set for a big run again'

The 3.00pm is over the same trip as the Huxley but back in handicap company.

The one who could be chucked in is BATTERSEA, who wears cheekpieces for the first time and slightly dropped in trip. Roger Varian's hope is not too badly drawn in stall 6.

Finally it's the Chester Cup over an extended 2m2f at 3.35pm.

Stall 15 should be enough to stop WHO DARES WINS winning for Alan King, but he might just be the exception to the rule.

Ryan Moore obviously helps, and my hope was a good fourth in this last year, running on at the finish. I hope he can at least get in the frame.

So hope for some Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
