ITV racing tips: Ascot, Lingfield and Haydock – Matt Chapman’s top betting preview for today’s TV racing

AFTER the relative calm of Chester, it's a crazy mad Saturday with three meetings on ITV to get stuck into, namely Ascot, Lingfield and Haydock.

Let's get straight to it, and the 2.15pm at Ascot is a handicap over nearly 1m4f. The one I like here is strong stayer HUMBLE HERO, who comes from the in-form yard of William Haggas.

Ridden by Danny Tudhope, it's easy to argue my hope wasn't in great form when last seen. But he's been gelded since and might be able to bounce back to his best.

The 2.50pm at Ascot is a Listed event again over nearly 1m4f.

BARSANTI hasn't won for nearly two years, but the Roger Varian-trained challenger has been in good form in defeat, including when second to Idaho in the Hardwicke. This should be his day.

Next up at Ascot is a fillies' handicap over 1m at 3.25pm. I like another Haggas inmate here in the shape of DYNAMIC, who is lightly raced and open to improvement.

She starts the season on her highest ever mark but is going the right way.

Finally at Ascot it's the Victoria Cup over 7f at 4.00pm, one of the big betting races of the Flat season. I see no reason why the Spring Mile third KYNREN can't give Ben Curtis a good ride.

David Barron's runner is very consistent and should have every chance of a place at least.

Over at Lingfield, ITV show the 1.55pm, the Listed Oaks Trial over an extended 1m3f.

All eyes on the easy Irish maiden winner Flattering, but I was at Windsor when STREAM SONG won last time and she's going to love stepping up in distance.

She has cheek pieces for John Gosden and while she will only be about 4-1 I'm going to back her each-way.

Matt Chapman's TV Tips

1.55 Lingfield - Stream Song: 'She will love stepping up in distance today'

2.15 Ascot - Humble Hero: 'Been gelded and can bounce back today with the yard going well'

2.30 Lingfield - Kew Gardens: 'Decent level of form and has plenty of experience'

2.50 Ascot - Barsanti: 'Has the best form on offer and this should be his day'

3.10 Haydock - Chesterfield: 'Will take a bit of stopping and goes well in these races'

3.25 Ascot - Dynamic: 'Lightly raced and open to plenty of improvement'

3.40 Lingfield - One Master: 'Looked a potential Group horse last year'

4.00 Ascot - Kynren: 'Consistent and certainly has a place chance at least'

It's the Listed Derby Trial over the same distance at 2.30pm. Here I will be with the Feilden Stakes third KEW GARDENS, who brings in a decent level of form and has plenty of experience for a track like this.

I don't think he's an Aidan O'Brien star, but he might well land this event.

Also at Lingfield at 3.40pm is a Listed fillies event over 7f. ONE MASTER looked a Group horse in her light campaign last season and if she is back in form for Haggas she can land this.

She's the one who could yet be top class in the line up.

Finally, over at Haydock, there's the Swinton Hurdle, a handicap over nearly 2m at 3.10pm. Fastish ground here, and the one who might enjoy the conditions is the Scottish Champion Hurdle third CHESTERFIELD.

He loves these type of events, and while he's just about in the grip of the handicapper he can take a bit of stopping. So best of luck and hope for Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
