A competitive renewal and Fozzy Stack’s ZIHBA has always been regarded as stakes class. The three-year-old colt was backed off the boards first time out at Dundalk in December, producing a nice change of gear to win comfortably from a solid yardstick.
He was only workmanlike when next seen at Dundalk again in March, but the second did get a very easy time of it out on the front end and Zihba was well on top and drawing away at the line.
This is another step up the ladder, but he should book his place in the Guineas at the Curragh later this month with a smooth display here - especially with the generous weight allowance he gets.
Tribal Beat is inconsistent, but when he’s good, he’s very good.
The two golden oldies Brendan Brackan and Gordon Lord Byron both set a decent standard on form and True Valour goes well fresh, but Jim Bolger’s Tribal Beat looks the big threat.

THE fillies’ mile division is a deep one this season and that is reflected in the quality on show here.
MARY TUDOR is more established than some, but it’s hard to forget how impressive she was when she broke her maiden in a Listed contest at Navan last month.
Willie McCreery’s filly has bundles of pace, travels strongly and comes from a very shrewd yard. Her form ties in well with Magical’s and if the ground stays on the quick side then she can make light of this drop back in trip.
Magical sets the standard, but she has to give weight to all and may lack the toe for a mile these days.
Chiara Luna and Alghabrah are obvious dangers, but Ger Lyons’ Who’s Steph was snapped up by leading owner George Strawbridge after winning a trial here last month and a bold bid is surely on the cards.

THERE is no doubt that the Ballysax form will come to prominence once again, but it’s the third home that day that is taken to come out on top this time around.
THE PENTAGON was bitterly disappointing here when a well-beaten favourite behind stablemates Nelson and Delano Roosevelt, but it was clear he did not handle the ground and very much needed the run.
Much better is expected here and any market confidence would speak volumes about his chances.
Dermot Weld’s Hazapour and Jessica Harrington’s The King are possible improvers, but Aidan O’Brien’s trio are clear on the ratings and likely to fill the first three again here.
Nelson outbattled Delano Roosevelt in the Ballysax and I expect the Frankel colt to confirm that form here.
