He stayed 1m2f on the level but they know what they are doing and should have him fit after more than a year off the track.

BADEN can edge out Ballycross because this ground looks more suitable for Nicky Henderson’s runner. He was a fair fourth in a better race at Cheltenham last time and his main rival would like it a lot softer.

ASTAROLAND has been consistent without getting his head in front and wasn’t asked too many questions when third at Carlisle last time. he has come nicely down the weights and is suited by this trip.

MARRACUDJA wasn’t at his best before unseating his river at Newton Abbot last time but was in cracking form earlier, scoring at Musselburgh and running fair races at Ascot and Newbury.

This trip is ideal and he comes from Paul Nicholls, who continues to fire in the winners.

LEONCAVALLO is having his first run for Dr Newland and that has been the path to success for many horses before.

He has had his sights lowered too after showing some promise when a close-up sixth at Bangor last time. This shorter trip suits too and he’ll go close.
