Clemmie and Happily spearhead Aidan O’Brien’s 1000 Guineas team on Sunday while Defoe is not certain to run at the Curragh
HAPPILY and Clemmie spearhead Aidan O'Brien's team of runners in Sunday's Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas.
The Ballydoyle handler is looking to win the race for the eighth time in his career and holds a strong hand.
Happily was last seen finishing third in the English equivalent at Newmarket and heads the betting as the 6-4 favourite off the back of that run.
Last season's Cheveley Park winner Clemmie suffered a setback in the spring and makes her return in the race although O'Brien has stressed that she will come on plenty for this outing.
Ballydoyle also run Could It Be Love.
Meanwhile Charlie Appleby sends over Soliloquy who could only finish sixth at Newmarket.
The Godolphin filly is the only British-trained runner in the field.
Jamie Spencer has picked up the ride on Lightening Quick who makes her first start for trainer Johnny Murtagh.
DERBY DAY When is the Derby at Epsom, can I still get tickets and who is running?
Her former trainer Ger Lyons runs Who's Steph who was supplemented for the race.
Chiara Luna, Alghabrah and Alpha Centauri are others to note in the final field of 13.
Meanwhile Defoe is not certain to line up in Sunday's Tattersalls Gold Cup with Roger Varian set to make a late decision on his participation.
If running, he will be in line to have a crack at O'Brien's Cliffs Of Moher.

Speaking to Tattersalls, Varian said: “Defoe has been declared to run in the Tattersalls Gold Cup, but his participation will depend on how quick the ground is and I intend to walk the course on Sunday.
“He is training nicely and he would have a very live chance on form, but I wouldn’t want to compromise his season by running him on an unsuitable surface and a final decision over his participation will be made at the last minute.”
