Epsom Derby 2018: Odds-on favourite Saxon Warrior tops 14 entries for Epsom race

Saxon Warrior is odds-on for the Derby at Epsom on Saturday

ODDS-ON favourite Saxon Warrior is the star name as 14 horses remain in contention for the Investec Derby.

Aidan O'Brien's colt is the clear market leader after he took his unbeaten record to four in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket earlier this month.

O'Brien has seven entered in total as he looks to win a joint-record seventh Derby.

The other Ballydoyle possibilities are Delano Roosevelt, Kew Gardens, The Pentagon, Nelson, Rostropovich and Zabriskie.

Dermot Weld's Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial winner Hazapour is the only other Irish-trained contender.

Hazapour will be ridden by Frankie Dettori who picked up the ride with the yard's retained rider Pat Smullen currently out of action.

The home team is headed by John Gosden's runaway Dante winner Roaring Lion, although he has been beaten by Saxon Warrior the two times they have met.

Masar, who was third in the 2000 Guineas, will bid to become a first Derby winner in the Godolphin colours for Charlie Appleby.
