Epsom Derby 2018 tips – Mystic Meg’s Epsom betting preview
It makes no odds to Mystic Meg what the form guide says - instead, she's looking to the stars
The future is bright if you're having a bet at Epsom tomorrow, of that there's no doubt.
My crystal ball has been in full flow and I can happily declare that the planets are in positive mood ahead of the big race.
Saturn looked down kindly upon yesterday's Oaks heroine, Forever Together, but I think it will be Mars that will drive his winning trident down upon the field tomorrow.
Mars is in the sign of Aquarius on the day of the Derby, so I think the Aquarius horses Saxon Warrior, Delano Roosevelt and Young Rascal all have the edge over their rivals.
They're my top three, but I wanted to look for an outright winner so decided to consult the runes, a task that I do not undertake lightly.
After much stony rumination, the first drawn was the Sun rune, which in the runic alphabet is the letter S, just like English. Therefore, my idea of the most likely winner is Saxon Warrior.
However, the runes also spoke heavily in favour of Young Rascal, and it would be no surprise to see him emerge as the main challenger.
The stars area aligned in perfect harmony so I don't expect to see rain and I believe the ground will be absolutely perfect.
