HAMILTON

AXEL JACKLIN didn’t show his best form at Haydock last time where he met some trouble in running.

1

He had earlier looked a certain future winner when beaten a neck in a decent maiden at Newmarket and would be hard to beat if repeating that.

2.30

JONBOY found 5f on the sharp side when returning from eight months off to finish fourth here last time out. This longer distance will be ideal and he should strip a lot fitter now.

SUNRIZE has shown positive signs on both outings this season, when fourth at Doncaster before following up with a good third at Redcar last time out. He saw out this sort of trip really well there and has been left alone by the handicapper. He could be the answer to this tight contest.

3.30

KIMBERELLA is dropping in class and distance and both should see him over the line. He pulled hard in the mud over 7f at Leicester last time and should be much happier back in sprinting company. He’s a tough sort who can be relied on to run his race. The progressive Laugh A Minute looks the main danger.

4.00
PIONEERING blew away the cobwebs after seven months off with a quiet effort at Pontefract last time. He should be a lot fitter for that and can pick up where he left off last season, which ended with three wins on the spin. He is a fair 8lb higher than the most recent of those and should run well.

4.30

START TIME wasn’t beaten far on his comeback at Thirsk last time where he liked this distance and the little bit of cut in the ground. It’s been a while since he’s won but he’s 9lb lower than that victory and this looks a weak contest.

5.00

ONLY SPOOFING has taken a real step forward since joining trainer Jedd O’Keeffe this season and ran away with a Beverley sprint last time after earlier scoring here. He shoulders a 6lb penalty for a five-length win and has every chance of following up.
