ITV racing tips: Sandown, Chester and York – Matt Chapman’s top betting preview for Saturday’s TV racing

Get all the info to bash the bookies as ITV's Matt Chapman runs you through Saturday's racing live on ITV4

With Royal Ascot around the corner, it's a case of quantity not quality on Saturday with racing on ITV4 from York, Sandown and Chester.

Watch the weather closely as chaos is forecast at York with thunder, lightning, rain and sunshine all possible. That narrows it down!

Let's get straight into it, and the first race on ITV is the 1.50pm from York, a handicap over 1m4f for lady riders.

DESERT RULER is in great form and proved he could cope with a higher mark on turf when finishing second at Chester after a break.

If he improves a bit for the run he has every chance of carrying on the good work for Jedd O'Keefe.

Next is the 2.25pm, a 7f handicap. GOLDEN APOLLO can easily operate off his current handicap mark and he looked like a horse running into form at this track last time.

My only worry is the trip as there's a chance he's better at 6f - but he can still go very close for Tim Easterby.

The action goes up a grade in the 3.00pm, a Listed event over nearly 1m6f.

Whether the rain comes is key to this race, so bet late! If it's pouring down, then back Hughie Morrison's MARMELO, who is a fine performer with cut in the ground.

I would fancy him strongly with a bit of juice.

The last race at York is the 3.35pm, a handicap over 6f live on ITV. JAWWAAL stays 7f and goes on any ground. He's in great form for John Gosden and is hard to keep out the frame for jockey Dane O'Neill as he bids for a hat-trick.

Matt Chapman's TV Tips

1.50 York - Desert Ruler: 'he has every chance of carrying on the good work for Jedd O'Keefe'

2.05 Sandown - Mokaatil: 'he has a great draw here and might well improve for that first outing for Owen Burrows'

2.25 York - Golden Apollo: 'he looked like a horse running into form at the track last time'

2.40 Chester - Shuhood: 'up in trip with new headgear, and might be worth taking a chance on'

3.00 York - Marmelo: 'fine performer with cut in the ground for Hughie Morrison. I would fancy him strongly with juice.'

3.15 Sandown - Zwayyan: 'has a reasonable draw for Andrew Balding and might well be capable of better this time.'

3.35 York - Jawwaal: 'in great form for John Gosden and has to be hard to keep out the frame for Dane O'Neill as he bids for a hat-trick.'

Over at Sandown, ITV show the 2.05pm, a Listed race over 5f. MOKAATIL didn't look totally in love with the game on his return run this season after wind surgery but he has a great draw here and might well improve for that first outing for Owen Burrows. On top of that, he actually wasn't beaten that far on his seasonal debut so there are reasons to hope for a better performance.

Also beamed live from Sandown is the 3.15pm, a handicap over 1m. ZWAYYAN is in the grip of the handicapper but has a reasonable draw for Andrew Balding and might well be capable of better this time. Conditions are ideal.

There's just the one race from Chester, an extended 1m4f handicap at 2.40pm. SHUHOOD is up in trip with new headgear, but might be worth taking a chance on. Ian Williams has been in tremendous form and my selection has every chance if getting home.

So best of luck and hope for Yeeehaaas. You Betcha!
