There is plenty of quality action on show as the Northumberland Plate Festival takes centre stage at Newcastle.

Newcastle

Best bet

12.55 Intisaab: A very narrow second in this last year and arguably heads into today's race in better form. A versatile and consistent horse, should run his usual race that will put him right in the mix.

Each-way

1.30 Euchen Glen: Got his head in front recently at Ayr and is well-in carrying a penalty. Also has a lower all-weather mark. Stays the trip and if repeating turf form could be too goof for these at a double figure price.

Newmarket

Best bet

2.20 Moyassar: Likely to go off a short-priced, but in a four runner affair looks likely to be a step above these after a useful second at York on debut.

Each-way

1.10 Royal Intervention: Shockingly the only race with eight or more runners and Ed Walker's filly impressed on debut with a smart second despite pulling hard. The winner has gone well since and she's been overlooked in this.

York

Best bet

2.45 Voyager Blue: Remains unexposed after front-running Chelmsford win. Raced keenly that day but still held off a competitive 0-100 field. Confident he'll go well here.

Each-way

2.45 Alfred Hutchinson: A veteran campaigner, has been in good form recently but still getting relief from the handicappers. Goes well at York and could go close at a big price.

Windsor

Best bet

3.00 Come On Leicester: A terrible name, but a good horse. Richard Hannon's two-year-old has already run three times, winning once and finishing a creditable fifth in the Queen Mary. She gives three pounds away to the majority of the field but should be a class above.

Each-way

3.00 Blame Roberta: We're not spoilt for field sizes at Windsor and the each-way comes in the same race. She made an eye catching start to her career and was given a fairly easy time. Should improve by the bucket load here.

Chester

Best bet

2.30 Bosham: Looks tailor made for the Chester track. Drawn in four, he should be able to burst out of the stalls and take charge of the race. Could be tough to pass.

Each-way

4.50 Boundsy: A lot will need to fall his way drawn in 11 but that will be represented in the price. Drops significantly in class and has shed a few further pounds.

Lingfield

Best bet

5.40 Trouble and Strife: A typical Sir Mark Prescott entry as this three-year-old steps up markedly in trip on handicap debut. They don't always go to plan but no one places them better...

Each-way

8.45 Viola Park: Was in good form until latest effort at Wolverhampton and has been priced up in line with that. Still yet to win as high in the handicap but looks a modest race and looks over-priced.

Doncaster

Best bet

6.30 Chains Of Love: Looked a very smart prospect for Karl Burke when winning on debut and should go in again here. The Mark Johnston horse is a threat but faces a tough task under a double penalty.

Each-way

7.30 Danehill Desert: Consistent horse and should have his day soon enough. Bottom weight and his best form has come on quick ground.
