Templegate’s horse racing tips: Epsom, Haydock, Newbury, Perth and Yarmouth – Templegate’s betting preview for Thursday 5 July

Epsom, Haydock, Newbury, Perth and Yarmouth come under the spotlight as Templegate gives you his best bets for the day

LET Car drive your punting profit in Newbury’s 8.25.

CARAVELA (nap) had some promising form last season and she hasn’t been able to show her best this year.

1

She ran well to be fourth in a Brighton contest that’s worked out really well on her return and then had little chance when trying to some from the rear in a slowly-run race. This should pan out much better.

POLITENESS (4.40 Perth, nb) won nicely over today’s course and distance last month. He’s twice successfully followed up victories.

ON A ROLL (5.40 Newbury, treble) ran well in novice races and she showed plenty of pace over 6f in a Windsor handicap last time out.

The return to 5f should help and jockey Seamus Cronin has ridden two winners from just four rides for Richard Hannon.

Templegate's treble

NAP 8.25 Newbury - Caravela: 'Brighton fourth has worked out and this should be run to suit'

NEXT BEST 4.40 Perth - Politeness: 'Course and distance winner tough to beat if in the same form'

TREBLE 5.40 Newbury - On A Roll: 'Drop back in trip will help and has good claimer booked'
