Today’s horse racing tips: Three longshots to fill your pockets on Friday, July 6

Don't miss out on these each-way bets for Friday, July 6

THE ground is as hard as nails as the summer heatwave continues, and only the most nimble are suited by conditions.

However, there are still several good betting opportunities around today and these longshots can help fill your pockets.

Ocelot (1.30, Doncaster) looks capable of a lot for Pretty Polly-winning jockey Danny Tudhope.

The four-year-old hasn't been in great form since completing a double last season, but showed a lot more spark at Haydock last time out.

Now dropped to a 0-80, this is the lowest grade he's contested for a while, and it would be disappointing if he didn't do better off top weight.

He'll love the ground and he should be primed for a top performance on his third run back from a break.

Trainer Robert Cowell is in good form and the track should suit this hold-up horse.

Three Longshots to fill your boots

1.30 Doncaster - Ocelot: ' He'll love the ground and he should be primed for a top performance on his third run back from a break'

4.05 Sandown - Alternative Fact: 'Now that he contests his first handicap, he should find things much easier'

8.20 Beverley - Power Sail: 'This is the weakest race he's contested so far and now dropped to a mark of 58, he can race in a 0-60 for the first time'

Alternative Fact (4.05, Sandown) can take advantage of an alternative grade.

Ed Dunlop's three-year-old looked a smart sort in the making last year, but has found life a bit tough in two Group races so far this term.

Now that he contests his first handicap, he should find things much easier.

He will be fine on the ground and a mark of 98 looks manageable.

Power Sail (8.20, Beverley) will power home given the step up in trip to a mile and a half.

Tim Easterby's three-year-old has been uninspiring in his two handicap runs so far, but he stayed on a bit from the back last time and now gets a massive hike in distance.

This is the weakest race he's contested so far and now dropped to a mark of 58, he can race in a 0-60 for the first time.

The trainer has had fifteen winners in the last two weeks and can strike once more.
