I’M putting my faith in God today.

God Given (1.10) won the Pinnacle Stakes – a Group 3 – for me over today’s course and distance.

She returns to Haydock for the Lancashire Oaks this afternoon and she looks to have a great chance.

They went a slow pace last time. It didn’t really suit her and she had to grind it out.

She sat fairly close to the pace that day and I’m guessing we’ll be handy away again. She gets this trip really well.

All of her previous wins had been on soft ground so it was good to get some form on faster. The ground shouldn’t be a problem for her today.

She’s a big filly who did well from three to four-years-old. Hopefully, she’s progressed again from her last run.

Aidan O’Brien’s three-year-old Flattering looks the biggest danger.

Atty Persse (1.45) won the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot last year. I’m not sure what happened when he was upped in class later in the season but it was clearly too bad to be true even allowing for the act he was taking on the likes of Cracksman. He’s back in a handicap today in the Old Newton Cup.

The race he won at Ascot is a tough race and he did it from a bad draw. He’s got stall three today and that should help.

There’s plenty of prize money on offer today so it’s never going to be easy but I think he’s got a decent chance.

Intisaab (2.20) is the one to beat on the ratings.

He won over this track and trip in May before running in the Wokingham and then in a Group 3 on the all-weather last weekend.

He had form in Listed and Group races last year. Back in a conditions race everything seems in his favour with David O’Meara’s horses running well.

PINSTICKERS Don't miss the runner by runner guide to Saturday's Coral Eclipse

The Eclipse looks a good race but it is a real shame Derby hero Masar doesn’t make the line-up. He looked the one to beat in the race so Charlie Appleby and his team will be hugely disappointed to be forced to miss the race.
Saxon Warrior must have come out of the Irish Derby well as Aidan O’Brien sends him  back out a week after finishing a close third at The Curragh.
He beat Masar and Roaring Lion in the 2,000 Guineas so that form gives him a good chance and he can take advantage of the antepost favourite’s absence.
It’s going to be another hot day but riding in this weather is not too bad.
You just need to keep plenty of fluids inside and it’s only really when you’re doing light weights it becomes a problem.
It doesn’t really bother me too much to be honest. I’ve ridden  in Dubai, Singapore and Australia where it’s a lot more humid.
See what happened when Ryan Moore met David Walliams and Billy Jenkins
