Monday racing tips: Andy Ayres picks out his best bet for today’s racing while updating us on all the latest news from the tracks this week

Don't miss out on all the latest talk from the tracks as Andy Ayres discusses all the action including Frankie Dettori's ten day ban

SO we may have to enjoy Glorious Goodwood and the King George without Frankie Dettori.

Racing’s greatest commercial asset copped a 10-day ban after being found guilty of careless riding aboard Angel’s Hideaway in the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket on Friday.

Dettori is set to appeal – and he’ll ride into the hearing with big John Gosden at his side – but was definitely guilty of a misdemeanour.

Basically the filly ducked right quicker than Mussolini – flattening two rivals in the process - while Frankie was showing her the whip with his left hand.

The incident didn’t look pretty and it might take Perry Mason at his most persuasive to get the decision overturned.

Frankie has been known to trip over his bottom lip in these circumstances but seemed in good form at Ascot on Saturday, where he rode a decent winner for Owen Burrows in ELWAZIR.

Bet like a good thing (5-2 to 11-8) in a hot 1m2f handicap, this colt is two saddles long, taller than a Harlem Globetrotter and promises to be pretty smart.

I’m told Burrows feels Elwazir is high class but has been asked to train him with next season in mind. Haydock’s Rose Of Lancaster Stakes beckons and he should go well there.

Incidentally, Team Burrows were also on the mark with another heavily backed jolly in WADILSAFA (11-4 to 7-4) up at York.

Wadilsafa and Elwazir are both sons of Frankel, whose offspring ooze talent although they can sweat more than Rafael Nadal in a heatwave.

There’s nothing quite like the bellow of an owner-breeder roaring their horse home – imagine Donald Trump with the volume on eleven – and MAID UP’s connections certainly let rip when she completed a hat-trick at Ascot on Friday.

This Andrew Balding trained filly is just the sort punters love. She’s grey, tries hard and – most importantly - keeps winning.

Monday Stonker

REAL ESTATE (8.10 Wolverhampton) is on the upgrade and won with something in hand here last week.

Balding - a nervous watcher who paces his daily 10,000 steps before each race – has the Lilly Langtry Stakes at Glorious Goodwood pencilled in as her next target.

Eve Johnson-Houghton knows how to shout a winner home too. If she were one of Snow White’s seven little helpers it certainly wouldn’t be Bashful!

Her Blewbury yard has produced a steady flow of smart horses over the past couple of seasons and could have unearthed another useful prospect in GAMBON.

This colt is built like a bull and was a couple of gallops short of being fully fit when third over 6f at Ascot on Friday.

Bearing in mind he’s bred to stay further and was hampered twice by the favourite Dirty Rascal, this was a noteworthy debut.

Dirty Rascal, who also broadsided Marhaba Milliar, was subsequently disqualified after a stewards’ enquiry that went on almost as long as the men’s semi-finals at Wimbledon. It looks as if he’s been aptly named.

Oisin Murphy is red-hot at the moment and has a decent book of rides at Wolverhampton tonight, his best being REAL ESTATE in the 8.10.

This colt has improved steadily since having a wind operation and was well supported when winning a similar race here last week. He shoulders a 6lb penalty but is improving and can strike again.
