MULLEN IT OVER

Today’s FREE horse racing tips: Yarmouth, Lingfield, Catterick, Wolverhampton and Uttoxeter – Steve Mullen’s betting preview for Wednesday, July 18

Steve Mullen guides you through Wednesday's racing at Yarmouth, Lingfield, Catterick, Uttoxeter and Wolverhampton

CATTERICK 2.00

LITTLE LEGS may just have the edge of Deia Glory in what should be a muddling race.

The tip took a big step forward from her debut when winning easily at Newcastle last time out. That was over this trip and she should improve.

SOMEONE EXCITING has a sporting chance given that she’s run well here before and likes this trip.

She takes a drop down from handicap company here and that could make a difference in this weak contest.

PRINCESS NEARCO (nap) didn’t enjoy dropping to 1m2f last time and will be much happier back over this trip.

She won well in a driving finish at Thirsk on her latest outing at this distance and is just 2lb higher in the weights now.

3.30

SHORT WORK came back to something like his best when second at Hamilton last time out.

He likes to go from the front and has won a couple of times around here, where those tactics work pretty well. He’s on a fair mark and should be in the shake-up again.

4.00

BIDDING WAR was entitled to need the run coming back from eight months off at Chepstow last time out.

That was just her second start so she should have learned from it and this doesn’t look the strongest race. Saisons D’Or can pull away her chances but has gone close a couple of times and is the main threat.

PACO ESCOSTAR looked capable of winning a race like this when finishing third on his debut for Julie Camacho at Haydock last time out.

She has plenty of pace for this trip and has run a couple of good races here before. There could be more to come off this lowly mark.

5.00

AELIUS has been running well without coming close to winning but this looks his easiest assignment for a good while.

It’s certainly a weaker contest than the one that saw him finish six lengths off the pace at Ayr last time. He’s falling down the weights and should be a lot closer today.
