salisbury racecourse

THE action hots up on the racecourse on Friday with six quality Flat meetings taking place.

Newmarket, Newbury and Hamilton provide us with evening entertainment so lets get stuck into the action straight away.

2

Nottingham

Best bet

4.00 Juneau - Has to carry a penalty for her last win but she's improving fast and it's hard to see her out of the frame once again. Looks more than ready to land the hat-trick.

Each-way

5.00 Thundercloud - Come back this season in good form and the cheekpieces go back on today. Should be able to make her presence felt.

LADY A BOWS OUT Globetrotting filly Lady Aurelia is retired by Wesley Ward

Newbury

Best bet

4.10 Nathan - Shaped as if he would relish this step up in trip last time and the track should play to his strengths.

Each-way

2.00 Clem A - Green as grass on her debut but there was plenty of promise in that run. Should be more streetwise today and despite the big field can play a part in the finish.

Newmarket

Best bet

7.45 A Momentofmadness - This is much easier than his last start and he's been in top form this season landing two competitive handicaps.

Each-way

8.45 Glenn Coco - Big run here in fifth last time and should appreciate the drop back to seven furlongs. Tongue strap on for the first time could also help him rediscover his best form.

2

Haydock

Best bet

2.40 Cloak And Dagger - Sixth behind subsequent Royal Ascot winner Main Edition on debut. Brings the best form into the race and this looks an easier task.

Each-way

3.45 Signore Piccolo - Just 1lb higher than when winning over course and distance last season. Does need to step up but every chance he can back here.

KONCHOUS DECISION Clive Cox to target Glorious Goodwood with July Stakes runner-up Konchek

Hamilton

Best bet

6.20 Showout - Beaten a neck on debut by more experienced rival. Should be up to winning this contest but is likely to be very short in the betting. So pair him with Mujassam (6.50) who looks up to landing the four-timer and can make the double worthwhile.

Each-way

7.20 Hoof It - Will be better now stepped up to six furlongs and should show plenty of improvement from his previous run this season. Getting on but still capable and can squeak into the places.

Pontefract

Best bet

8.05 Waarif - Belatedly off the mark last time but that could be the start of things to come. No surprise to see him continue his winning run today with everything to suit.

Each-way

6.30 Metallic Black - Speedy enough pedigree and this race doesn't look to have too much depth to it. Can get involved on debut.
