Ken Condon’s Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Romanised set for French mission after Royal Ascot flop
Romanised was not at home on the quick ground at Ascot when last seen
TRAINER Ken Condon believes Romanised still has plenty more to offer this season, despite his disappointing run at Royal Ascot.
The Irish 2,000 Guineas winner could only manage seventh in the St James's Palace Stakes when last seen.
Condon believes that was down to the quick ground and is looking forward to the rest of the season which could see him step up in trip.
Romanised is set to head to France with the Prix Jacques le Marois his next target before a possible crack at the Prix du Moulin.
Condon said: "I think the ground was just too quick at Ascot, I'm happy that was the case.
"The ground at the Curragh was fast but had a kindness to it, at Ascot they were breaking track records by the end of the week.

"He's had a bit of a rest and the plan is the Jacques le Marois at Deauville.
"A straight mile again should suit. He worked during the week and we were happy with that.

"A reproduction of his Curragh run, given what U S Navy Flag has done, would make him very competitive.
"We are considering 10 furlongs but it might not happen until the Irish Champion Stakes.
"After the Jacques le Marois we are probably looking at the Prix du Moulin but we'll be more informed after he runs again."
