King George winner James Doyle crowned Stobart Jockey of the Month
The multiple Group 1-winning rider was announced as July's Jockey Of The Month on Tuesday
JAMES DOYLE has been crowned July's Stobart Jockey of the Month.
In a tight vote, Doyle fought off competition from Silvestre De Sousa and Oisin Murphy to land the prize.
The top jockey was nominated for the award after his well timed ride on Poet's Word to win the Group 1 King George at Ascot.
Doyle also notched up 23 winners and was operating at a 25% strike rate in July.
His successful month saw him pass 50 winners for the season.
Silvestre De Sousa finished a close second in the vote with Oisin Murphy back in third.
There is a total of £2000 in prize money up for grabs for the jockeys with the winner receiving £1000 (and £500 to a charity of their choice) and both second and third place receiving £500 each.
