Frankie Dettori to miss Saturday’s Shergar Cup and ride at Newmarket instead
The top jockey has snubbed Ascot and will instead ride at Newmarket for trainer John Gosden
FRANKIE DETTORI will not be riding at Saturday's Shergar Cup.
Dettori's agent Ray Cochrane confirmed the top jockey will be riding at Newmarket instead.
Dettori has three rides for John Gosden at Newmarket on Saturday.
Among his rides is exciting filly Pennywhistle who runs in the Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes.
Cochrane, said: "Frankie's going to Newmarket. John is going to have three runners there, including Princess Haya's filly in the Group Three (Pennywhistle, Sweet Solera Stakes).
"Hopefully Frankie will have seven rides. He can't be everywhere, I'm afraid."
In Dettori's absence, Gerald Mosse will captain the European team and will be joinged by Andrasch Starke and Per-Anders Graberg.
Fran Berry returns alongside Adam Kirby and Pat Cosgrave for the Great Britain and Ireland team.
The Rest of the World team features Corey Brown, João Moreira and Yutaka Take. The Girls team comprises Josephine Gordon, Hayley Turner and Hollie Doyle.
