PURPLE ROCK was unlucky at Chelmsford at the weekend when having to settle for second. He was going like the winner but was blocked a couple of times when trying to challenge. He finished with running left so should go close again with the longer trip no problem.

MOYASSAR looks the one to beat after cruising to victory at Chelmsford last time. He had already shown good form on turf when second at Newmarket and York so switching surfaces shouldn’t be a problem. There should be a lot more to come.

STEWARDESS won with plenty in hand at Ripon last time and his rider’s claim cancels out her rise in the weights. That was over this distance in a similar standard race so there’s no reason why she won’t be right on the premises again.

KODICAT is coming down the weights and ran a good race when second at Thirsk last time out. That was over this distance and her best effort for a while, which suggests she’s ready to win again.

From from Goodwood doesn’t always translate to other tracks but UNDER THE COVERS was so impressive at last week’s Glorious meeting that she must go close again. She shoulders a 6lb penalty for that convincing win and stays in the same grade here.

MEDALLA DE ORO gave a nice type a real battle when second at Yarmouth last week, with a good gap back to the third horse. He goes off the same mark today and looks capable of improvement over this trip.

This looks wide open so a chance is taken on KISMAT making her handicap debut. She has shown some promise in three maidens yet starts off from a lowly enough mark. She drops back to the trip of her best effort, when third at Nottingham, and she should be capable of improvement.
