Best horse racing tips for Saturday: Sunracing’s top picks for today’s racing at Ascot, Redcar, Haydock, Chelmsford, Newmarket, Lingfield and Ayr

Don't miss out on Sunracing's best bet and each-way shot at all of Saturday's meetings

It's a day of non-stop action, with seven meetings taking place all over the country.

The Sunracing team has been through it all with a fine tooth-comb and below are some of the best bets and each-way shots of the day.

3

Ascot

Best bet

1.05 Line Of Reason - The opener on Shergar Cup day can go the way of the girls and Hayley Turner. Her mount has been in fine form of late and is well handicapped on his old form over course and distance. Raced on the wrong side of the track last time but should have no worries on that front this time around.

Each-way

4.00 Helvetian - Doesn't look on the handiest of marks but ran a decent race against a couple of progressive types at Goodwood last week and should be better over this trip. Adam Kirby takes the ride and can outrun his price.

Redcar

Best bet

2.55 Normandy Barriere - Now could be the time to catch Nigel Tinkler's speedster, who is off a winning mark and drops into Class 3 grade. Theodore Ladd takes off a handy 7lb and he's capable of a big run.

Each-way

5.05 Ilikeyoualot - Three runs in maidens haven't produced a great deal but he was always likely to do better handicapping and now steps up significantly in trip. Michael Dods is good at improving his horses and this well-bred sort should be able to rise up the ranks soon.

Haydock

Best bet

1.20 Falmouth Light - Seemed to appreciate the switch to Iain Jardine's stable when winning back in June and has the potential for better considering he pulled hard that day. A 5lb rise probably underestimates him and he'll appreciate any rain that falls.

Each-way

3.05 Communique - Rapidly improving type comes here with a big shout of taking Group 3 honours against some up and coming rivals. Beat Zaaki who re-opposes on his penultimate start and was impressive at Goodwood last time out.

Chelmsford

Best bet

3.15 Rock On Baileys - Unlike the majority of her rivals she comes into the contest on a roll, and course form counts for a lot at the track. Trainer Chris Dwyer has done well with the family and she can probably go in again.

Each-way

4.25 Recordman - Saeed bin Suroor's three-year-old hasn't lifted any trees in his four starts to date but he should able to strike in his first handicap off a mark of 81. He's regally bred and a mile and a quarter looks to be his best trip.

Newmarket

Best bet

2.35 Eyelool - Did it pretty easily last time out at Epsom in a decent looking maiden and is capable of better now going into his first handicap. Looks a pretty weak race for the grade and trainer William Haggas has been in flying form.

Each-way

3.45 California Love - Was quite impressive at the track on her second start for trainer Richard Spencer and although she lacks the Group race form of some her rivals, has the potential for more. Can surprise a few.

Lingfield

Best bet

5.10 El Borracho - Matchmaking is on a five timer and is feared, but his winning run has to come to an end at some point. Simon Dow's runner should have his measure if building on a fine performance last time out.

Each-way

7.15 Obaby - It's very unusual for Paul Nicholls to have a runner over six furlongs, but he fields one here. Three runs in maidens haven't produced much in the way of solid form but she looks capable of much better now handicapping.

Ayr

Best bet

7.05 Oriental Lilly - Jim Goldie is in rampant form and could get another winner here. His four-year-old filly was on a roll with wins at the track and at Newcastle before finding Line Of Reason too strong last time. There is absolutely no shame in that and this looks a much weaker contest.

Each-way

8.35 Almontaser - Trainer John James Feane has a cracking record with the horses he sends to Ayr. Although his four-year-old hasn't done a lot in his career, he showed much more last time and steps up significantly in trip here.
