Friday’s racing tips: Three longshots to fill your pockets at Ascot and Newcastle

Don't miss out on these each-way bets for Friday, September 7

THE action steps up a notch today, with a number of good heats at some top tracks.

We've had our head in the formbook and picked out a few horses that look over priced in the betting.

1

1.30 Ascot - Swiper

While I'm not sure he'll be the price the forecasts have made out, if he's available at an each way price I would be snapping up a bet on Swiper straight away.

This doesn't look a strong race and the market looks to have been set up by a couple of exposed types and none of the newcomers look to have star potential.

Richard Hannon's juvenile was well backed on debut but could only finish sixth. He's then posted two decent efforts in better races and a repeat of those wouldn't see him far away at Ascot.

4.20 Ascot - Examiner

A typically competitive handicap over the straight mile and if you can find the winner you're going to get a decent price.

I'm siding with Examiner for Stuart Williams who would be much shorter had he not been pulled up on his last start and been off the track for a while.

His record fresh is not amazing but he's gone well without winning a few times. It's somewhat of a leap of faith but his form in the book is too good to overlook at the odds.

4.00 Newcastle - Amber Spark

I tend not to get too involved in nurseries but Richard Fahey's youngster has gone well at this track previously and still looks to be ahead of the handicapper.

He was fourth last time out but the third has won since and back on his preferred surface he could make amends.

The step up to a mile should suit and hopefully bring out that tad more improvement to keep the handicapper at bay for now.
