TODAY’S Irish Champion Stakes runners and tips: Your top pinstickers’ guide to Saturday’s feature race at Leopardstown
JOHN GOSDEN is up for a Roaring time over the weekend.
With Lah Ti Dar and Too Darn Hot holding forte at Doncaster, Roaring Lion should take the Irish Champion spoils at Leopardstown.
Addeybb 3/5
Doesn't quite add up. Hard to trust fully after such a lengthy spell off the track and would have preferred some rain in the build up. Trainer William Haggas has had a good time of thing in Ireland though and can't rule out on form claims from earlier in the summer.
Deauville 1/5
Unlikely to be the villain. Hardy type and races here, there and everywhere but a likely team player in this for Aidan O'Brien. Big odds for a reason.

Rhododendron 1/5
The petals have fallen off. A once classy filly has been far from her best in recent runs. Something has clearly been amiss a long the way and she's best watched, even at the juicy odds.
Roaring Lion 5/5
Tame the bookies. Has slowly become one of the horses of the season and looks to have most things in his favour again here. Beat a cracking field in the Juddmonte comfortably and this is arguably easier.

Saxon Warrior 3/5
Not up for the fight. Was labelled a potential superstar early in the season but the wheels have somewhat fallen off. York run was slightly better but it would be some job from O'Brien to reverse the form here.
Study Of Man 4/5
You learn something new everyday. This French challenger could be the one to threaten the Lion. Still quite lightly raced and could yet have a big race in him. Another that may have preferred more rain in the air though.
Verbal Dexterity 3/5
Keep on talking. Could be a live outsider if he can rediscover his juvenile form. Has plenty to find with the main fancies but can't rule out further improvement for this home favourite.
Athena 2/5
Another team player. Not often you see a Grade 1 winner at this price but has fallen short when in top company on these shores. Could be used as part of the Ballydoyle tactics.
