SANDOWN

SAAHWEQ was very impressive when coming back from more than a year off to win at Doncaster last week.
He had a lot more in hand than the official margin of a length and a penalty shouldn’t put the brakes on.
The only concern is whether this will come too soon. If it does, Roundabout Magic could cash in after an excellent second at Goodwood last time.
2.10
BARRISTAN THE BOLD won well here last time out, putting more than two lengths between himself and his rivals.
That was over 7f but he shapes as though this longer distance will bring improvement. He likes some cut in the ground too.
EXCITING PROSPECT Quorto extends his unbeaten record in Group 1 National Stakes
2.40
WALKINTHESAND caught the eye when finishing a close second here on debut last time out.
He was just run out of it in the dying strides when his lack of experience told. He should improve on that and can get the better of Good Fortune who is dropping down from Listed class.
3.15
WADILSAFA wouldn’t have to be at his best to take this. He had more than four lengths in hand when winning a competitive handicap at York last time when the drop back to this distance looked a wise move.
He likes some give underfoot and is clearly improving fast.
3.50
MISS MUMTAZ comes here on the back of an excellent win at Carlisle last time where she won cosily in decent company.
There was some give in the ground that day, which was right up her street, and she has been raised just 3lb.
Rawdaa didn’t take to the all-weather at Wolverhampton last time after a good win at Newmarket and can do better.
4.20
WHITLOCK didn’t get the run of the race when fourth last time over course and distance. He tried to come with a strong run late on but found the door closed.
He had earlier won well at Newmarket and is a fair 6lb higher than that now. He has relatively few miles on the clock and there should be more to come.
4.55
GOLDEN IMAGE has been running better than her recent finishing positions suggest. Before her Newbury sixth last time she won and finished second at Salisbury with good performances each time.
She goes off the same mark as the runner-up effort and should be right there again from a good draw.
5.25
FANFAIR is coming nicely down the weights and could be the answer to this open contest. She wasn’t at her best at Brighton last time but that was her first poor run of the season after a string of solid performances.
This trip suits and trainer Richard Hannon has his horses in decent form.
