Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks for today’s racing at Ayr, Newbury, Newton Abbot and Newcastle

Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of today's meetings

NEWBURY and Ayr both hold a strong book of racing this Friday, with Newton Abbot and Newcastle in a support role.

We've had our heads in the formbook and picked out our best bets across the day.

1

Ayr

Best bet

1.30 Guildhall - Very promising on debut in what should be a decent maiden in time. Will come on plenty for that and those under a penalty look very vulnerable.

Each way

3.05 Deia Glory - Huge run at York at 50-1. Looks to have been over looked again here and could be tidy price again. Ground an unknown but connections would have known that when sending up.

Newbury

Best bet

3.55 Red Mist - Talented and well-bred horse but has been tricky for connections. Looked to get back on track at Ripon and can take this in his stride at a track that will suit down to the ground.

Each way

5.05 Bombastic - Wide open and competitive heat for the grade but Ed de Giles' three-year-old is back on a tempting mark and this new trip has been on the cards for a while.

Newton Abbot

Best bet

3.15 Acker Bilk - Only okay on the flat but showed enough on first hurdle start that he's up to more in this code. Doesn't look a strong race and can bring up the double in style.

Each way

4.55 Flying Verse - Blows hot and cold, but two from four in recent efforts. On a going day is more than good enough to take this.

Newcastle

Best bet

7.50 Bedwyyah - Decent enough novice and maiden form. Hasn't fired in handicap company just yet but this looks a nice opening. Stoute has a good strike rate when sending runners up to Newcastle.

Each way

8.20 The Grey Zebedee - This looks best opening for a while. Has run two good efforts at this track and surely better than current mark.
