Steve Mullen guides you through Monday's racing at Hamilton, Newcastle, Kempton and Leicester

LEICESTER

2.20

GLOBAL HERO was an impressive winner on debut at Salisbury where he managed to strike despite looking very green.

2

He picked up well when asked and was going away come the winning post. There’s every chance he’ll take a big step forward.

John Gosden newcomer Reeth is worth a look in the betting, along with House Of Kings who was a good second at Ffos Las latest.

2.50

FARO ANGEL had to come very wide to challenge on his debut at Ascot last time and it was a decent effort to finish fifth, not beaten out of sight.

He missed the kick there but will hopefully have learned from the experience and has plenty of scope for improvement.

Nubough wasn’t asked too many questions on debut over 6f at Newcastle and will relish this longer trip.

3.20

KODINA is interesting in a pretty weak contest making her debut for canny David Evans.

She’s been off since a Bath sixth in May but showed some promise before that and has a handy 7lb claimer on board today.

She needs to improve but should be capable of managing that.

Lamb Chop ran poorly at Ffos Las earlier this month after a good second at Chepstow. This trip suits and she won’t be far away.

3.50

MOVE IN TIME has been running well and was just over two lengths off the pace in better company at Ascot last time.

He has dropped to 3lb lower than the mark that saw him go close over this trip at Pontefract three starts ago and he’ll be on the premises.

Royal Brave won a shade cosily at Musselburgh last time over this distance so could easily defy a 4lb rise in the weights.

4.20

Although Ffos Las form doesn’t often work out, the way Frankel colt OUTBOX won on debut there last time suggests he has a bright future.

He was very green but still didn’t have to ease past second gear to strike. That was over this distance and you would expect plenty of improvement.

Forest View should come on for a quiet debut at Haydock last time where he gave them a head start.

The ground was on the firm side that day too and he’ll enjoy this surface better.

4.50

GOLD ARROW has been given a fair opening handicap mark despite winning at Brighton last time out.

She enjoyed this trip there and it would be no surprise to see further improvement on her fourth outing.

Rapture is another making her handicap debut with excellent 7lb claimer Oakley Brown in the saddle.

She’s shown promise so far and is likely to be popular in the betting ring.

5.20

KYLLACHYS TALE has come down the weights and went very close to winning off this mark at Ffos Las last time out.

That was a real return to form with this distance looking ideal. This is a similar contest so she should be on the premises.

Zafaranah hasn’t been out since going down in a tight finish at Newmarket in July.

She should appreciated the step up to a mile and is only 2lb higher today.

5.50

TOPMEUP didn’t get going at Sandown last time after landing back-to-back wins at Yarmouth in August.

She’s a fair 5lb above the second of those here and has gone well at this track before.

Champagne Bob is a good ride for an apprentice and won under today’s rider at Newbury earlier this season. He is still on a workable mark and rates the danger.
