The Queen’s Seniority heads lively Haggas trio for Cambridgeshire assault
The Newmarket handler could also be represented by Alfarris and Original Choice in Saturday's valuable handicap
WILLIAM Haggas will be hoping for a royal rumble when Senority lines up in the Cambridgeshire on Saturday.
The Queen's Glorious Goodwood winner is out to make amends for a flop at Group 3 level last time out.
Now dropped in grade again, the son of Dubawi will have to defy a 6lb higher mark than when scooting clear in the Golden Mile at the Sussex track back in July.
The four-year-old, who would bid for a fourth win this season if lining up on Saturday, is reported to have been working well.
"Seniority is pretty useful as long as the ground is on the quicker side, which the weather forecasters suggest it will be by Saturday. He's also in a good place mentally, which is important to him," said Haggas.
Also likely to take his chance in the prestigious contest is the progressive Alfarris.
The son of Shamardal has risen from a mark of 87 to 104 this year but Haggas doesn't believe he's handicapped out of things just yet.
"I've had this race in mind for Alfarris since Goodwood. He ran well at York, the trip and strong gallop on Saturday will suit him perfectly and he is a nice horse, doing well."
The Newmarket handler could also be represented by Original Choice, though he admits the Rowley Mile is not certain to suit.

He added: "I'm not so sure about Original Choice for the race as he has shown his best form on a turning track, but he's a decent horse who has run a lot in this type of contest."
Despite multiple victories at the highest level, Haggas has never managed to land the end-of-season highlight.
"The closest we've come was with Missile (in 1996) who finished second to Clifton Fox.
"He wouldn't go on the horse box and had to be trotted across town to get to the racecourse, so he had run a fair race even before he got in the starting stalls!"
