Best horse racing tips: Sun Racing’s top picks for today’s racing at Haydock, Market Rasen, Newmarket, Ripon, Chester and Chelmsford

Don't miss out on Sun Racing's best bet and each-way shot at all of today's meetings

IT'S a bumper day of racing across the country, with top class action from Newmarket and Haydock leading the way.

The Sun Racing team have been studying the form and picked out their best bets and each-way picks for today's six meetings.

2

Newmarket

Best bet

1.50 Arthur Kitt - Brings the best form into the race thanks to a Chesham win at Royal Ascot and a second behind next year's Guineas and Derby favourite Too Darn Hot. That form alone will be good enough for him to stake a claim and with just three runs under his belt, he's open to plenty of improvement.

Each-way

2.25- Fairyland - Looks overpriced at around the 7-1 mark, having won the Lowther last time out despite not being fully fit. Runs for the trainer/jockey combination that have won the contest for the last two years and likely to be suited by the track.

Haydock

Best bet

4.25 Baydar - Looked very unlucky not to win at Chester last time out, having got behind early on. He finished with a mighty flourish there and the first-time visor seemed to work wonders. Provided the headgear works again, he will be tough to beat under suitable conditions.

Each-way

3.15 Blue De Vega - Capable of smart sprinting form at his best, and although has been out of sorts of late, is back down to his last winning mark. Acts on the ground and should benefit from the addition of a first-time hood.

Ripon

Best bet

4.10 Multellie - May have benefited from an easy lead at Carlisle last time out when scooting clear but that was a good performance nonetheless. Could be tough to catch under a 6lb penalty if producing the same display here.

Each-way

3.05 Acclaim The Nation - Didn't show much back from a break last time out but he should strip fitter this time and it operating off a workable mark. Has a first-time eye-shield to try and perk him up and he has decent claims if back to the form of earlier in the season.

Chester

Best bet

3.45 Hollydaze - Won nicely last time out at Brighton and steps up in grade under conditions that should suit. Finley Marsh takes off 5lb and if she can negotiate her wide draw she has a good chance of making it two on the bounce.

Each-way

4.55 Winged Spur - Not been in fantastic form of late but is now only 1lb higher than when winning at Ripon in July. Franny Norton is brilliant around the Roodee and he will be tough to beat if getting an easy lead.

2

Chelmsford

Best bet

7.15 African Ride - Struck on his first start for Simon Crisford at Deauville in impressive fashion and is capable of plying his trade at a higher level than Class 2 grade. Should get an easy lead and with James Doyle in the plate and with the addition of a first-time tongue-tie everything looks in place for a big run.

Each-way

8.15 Alsvinder - Not really gone on from a promising early career but is now returned to synthetics where he has a much better record. Down to a decent mark and gets the services of Oisin Murphy in what appears to be his easiest task for some time.

Market Rasen

Best bet

4.00 L'Inganno Felice - Keeps improving under the handling of Iain Jardine and was impressive in a similar race at the track in July. Raised another 9lb which will make life tough but he's a strapping horse and can handle the extra burden. Should get an easy lead and will be tough to stop.

Each-way

3.25 Chebsey Beau - Capable of smart form on his day and loves this track. Won well on the Flat last time out and that should have prepared him nicely for this.
