Free horse racing tips for today: Chepstow, Hexham, Warwick, Kempton and Wolverhampton – The Wizard of Odds’ betting preview for Wednesday, November 21

The Wizard of Odds guides you through Wednesday's racing at Chepstow, Hexham, Warwick, Kempton and Wolverhampton

EKAYBURG (2.45 Chepstow) has looked a real prospect in French bumpers, really taking the eye when winning a Group 2 at Maisons-Laffitte last time out.

That was enough for him to cross the Channel and join David Pipe who looks to have found a very winnable race for his UK debut.

His dam was a winning chaser so jumping should come naturally and he could be a nice prospect.

OXWICH BAY (3.20 Chepstow) had bits and pieces of form over timber but already looks a better chaser after finishing a close-up fourth on his debut here last time out.

He was just getting going at the end of the 2m trip and this longer distance looks a wise move. Any more rain wouldn’t be an issue because he likes plenty of cut in the ground.

This race is a drop in class from that last outing and there should be a lot more improvement to come over the bigger obstacles.

Wizard's magic tips...

TRIXIE: BATTLE DUST (2.25 Hexham), EKAYBURG (2.45 Chepstow), OXWICH BAY (3.20 Chepstow)

EACH-WAY DOUBLE: SNOWED IN (2.55 Hexham) is better than he showed for a conditional at Carlisle last time and gets on well with today’s rider who steered him to third in a similar race at Kelso two starts ago.

Pair him with MERWEB (7.50 Wolverhampton) who has run well on all three starts and went close when second at Newcastle last time.

RETRIEVAL MISSIONS: Three horses today’s were beaten favourite on their past two runs — JUDGE ET PARTI (12.40 Chepstow), MINELLA FIVEO (1.50 Hexham) and BEAT THAT (3.10 Warwick).

KEMPTON KING: Almost half of Charlie Appleby’s runners over the past two years have won at Kempton on the all-weather. He has ZAKOUSKI (5.10) and ALQAMAR (7.10) today.

BATTLE DUST (2.25 Hexham) “won” at Cheltenham last time despite the saddle slipping and most of the lead falling out in the closing stages, meaning he weighed in 12lb light.

That got him disqualified but it was still a good run and built on his win at Chepstow where he carried the correct weight and stayed well.

He likes some give in the ground so conditions will suit at Hexham and he stays forever, which is another asset.
