Best horse racing tips for today’s action at Wetherby, Hereford, Wolverhampton and Newcastle from Tom Bull

Don't miss out on Tom Bull's best bets at today's four meetings

THE farmer wasn't happy this morning as I kept him up all night mooing about how rotten my picks were yesterday!

Now that I've got that out of my system I reckon these four certs can do the business on Wednesday.

Wetherby

12.15 Alexanderthegreat - John Quinn brings a pretty smart Flat horse into the National Hunt game and it would be a surprise if he wasn't capable of some decent form in this sphere. Rated 73 on the level, he won twice this year in handicaps at Lingfield and Newbury and brings stand-out claims from those who are yet to race over hurdles. The standard set by Alliteration and Keynote is not a strong one and he can make a winning debut here.

Hereford

12.35 Agincourt Reef - There are a few with chances in the opener but I'm a big fan of Roger Teal's recent Ludlow winner, who escapes a penalty. First-time blinkers seemed to make a big difference to him at the Shropshire track and with Harry Teal taking off extra weight, he's actually 2lb well-in. Expect him to adopt a prominent position on this drop back in trip and he's scandalously well-handicapped on his old form.

12.15 Wetherby - Alexanderthegreat

12.35 Hereford - Agincourt Reef

5.00 Wolverhampton - Charlie D

6.15 Newcastle - Wondering Spirit

Wolverhampton

5.00 Charlie D - Tom Dascombe has done well with his son of Animal Kingdom and he won quite a good handicap for the grade at this track last time out. The handicapper has only raised him 4lb for that and this is arguably a weaker contest. He'll need to escape his wide draw quickly if he wants to lead but Richard Kingscote is ace from the front so expect him to control things from the box seat once again.

Newcastle

6.15 Wondering Spirit - Kevin Ryan's filly faces a rematch with Reconcile, who beat her on his debut giving her 5lb. However, with the penalty he now has to give her nearly a stone and that could turn the tables back in the filly's favour. She was coming back from a lengthy layoff then and was only just worn down in the closing stages, so there should be plenty more to come.
