Best horse racing tips for today’s action at Newcastle, Sandown, Wincanton, Lingfield and Kempton from Tom Bull

Don't miss out on Tom Bull's best bets at all of Saturday's five meetings

IT'S been an up and down week for this column but we got back on track nicely with a couple of winners on Thursday.

There's a very busy afternoon of action in prospect on Saturday and I reckon I can stun the bookies with some serious tipping terror!

Newcastle

11.55 Suggestion - Despite a nasty injury for stable jock Adam Nichol, everything is looking pretty rosy for Philip Kirby's yard at the moment.

They're enjoying a cracking run of form at the moment and their seven-year-old bolted up last time out on Boxing Day.

That was a career-best effort in first-time cheekpieces and he should be able to strike again in this very weak race.

Bully's Saturday Bankers

11.55 Newcastle - Suggestion

12.45 Sandown - Capeland

1.15 Lingfield - Matterhorn

3.15 Wincanton - Calipto

5.45 Kempton - Roman Spinner

Sandown

12.45 Capeland - This looks a good opportunity for the progressive seven-year-old to notch another win.

He's won three of his last four starts, last time beating a fair yardstick in impressive fashion.

The handicapper has given him a 7lb rise to contend with but he only has three rivals to beat and none should be strong enough to have his measure.

Wincanton

3.15 Calipto - Venetia Williams has her team in spellbinding form and this one might well have won a decent race at Chepstow last time but for unseating at the last.

He's copped a 3lb rise but it would have been more had he come home in front and Hugh Nugent takes off a handy 7lb.

He threatened to be a smart horse in his youth and is surely capable of better.

Lingfield

1.15 Matterhorn - Typical Mark Johnston sort looks as hard as nails, winning three of his last four starts, all at different tracks.

Was successful here easily on his penultimate start and even off nearly a stone higher he could have too much improvement in him.

A win at Southwell last time kept him ticking over and the step up to a mile-and-a-quarter should be ideal.
