BULLY'S BANKERS

Best horse racing tips for today’s action at Newbury, Lingfield, Plumpton and Kempton from Tom Bull

Don't miss out on Tom Bull's best bets at Wednesday's meetings

THE Met Office seems to believe that there's a cold spell to end all cold spells just around the corner.

Luckily I'm bang in the middle of a hot streak, so I'll be leaving my coat and scarf at home thank you very much!

Newbury

3.20 Sunrise Ruby - Made quite a taking debut under rules for Nicky Henderson and now has her first start over hurdles after a break.

The form of her debut worked out nicely with the second scoring twice and she's bound to have plenty more to come for her top team.

She gets weight from the principals and that could prove decisive.

Lingfield

3.00 James Street - Has been a model of consistency for Hugo Palmer and produced a fine performance last time to just lose out in a better race at Kempton.

This is his first start in a handicap and he looks nicely treated off an opening mark of 88.

He looks the most progressive of the five and should win again.

Bully's Wednesday Bankers

Plumpton 2.35 Mauna Kea

Lingfield 3.00 James Street

Newbury 3.20 Sunrise Ruby

Kempton 4.30 Cape Greco

Plumpton

2.35 Mauna Kea - Won his last two in the style of a real improver and shot clear under 7lb claimer Kieren Buckley at Exeter last time.

The step up in trip here should suit and the same jockey rides again so he should be capable of a big run, even off a 14lb higher mark.

It's not the strongest of races by any means and he's not stopped progressing just yet.

Kempton

4.30 Cape Greco - Came good for the second time on the trot earlier in the week, drawing clear under 5lb claimer Georgia Dobie.

Doesn't get that weight this time but Robert Winston takes the ride and he actually runs off the same mark.

He's nailed the plum draw and will be very hard to beat.
