Free horse racing tips for today: Ayr and Exeter – The Wizard of Odds’ betting preview for Sunday, January 20

The Wizard of Odds guides you through Sunday's racing at Ayr and Exeter

ASK BEN (1.25 Ayr) had to dig deep when winning on his hurdling debut at Newcastle last time but it was a gutsy effort that he looks capable of improving on.

He is fitter than 50 days off suggests as he ran in a void race at Haydock at the end of December. This step up to 3m should suit and he’s taking a drop in class from his victory today.

CHAMBARD (1.45 Exeter) won a Grade 1 bumper in France and has taken a little time to get the hand of things on this side of the Channel.

After a couple of modest efforts, he was a good second at Ffos Las so the penny may have finally dropped.

His jumping was a lot better there and the winner has come out and won a decent race since so the form looks solid.

DESTRIER (2.00 Ayr) performed with credit in graded company as a hurdler and looked a natural when winning on his chase debut at Southwell last time out.

He jumped really well there and was value for much further than the half-length winning margin as he eased near the line.

There should be a lot more to come with the benefit of that run and he has a bright future in this sphere.

PRINTING DOLLARS (2.50 Exeter) has done well on her two hurdles runs since winning a bumper at Warwick.

She came up against a decent rival last time but kept going and should have too much quality for these.

You would expect further improvement at this early stage of her career and stepping up in distance looks a wise move.

EACH-WAY DOUBLE: SO SATISFIED (3.40 Ayr) has looked in need of his two runs this season and improved when fifth at Catterick last time.

He’s dropping in class back over hurdles and looks well weighted even before his rider’s claim. Pair him with AMBEROSE (4.10 Ayr) who is still learning the game and looks on a fair mark for her handicap debut.
