Lesser-spotted Cheltenham Gold Cup Favourite Presenting Percy ready for comeback at Gowran Park
The eight-year-old is set to run in the Galmoy Hurdle after the rain finally arrived
THE lesser-spotted Presenting Percy is set for his long-awaited comeback on Thursday.
The Gold Cup favourite has been declared to run in the Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park after the heavens finally opened.
Pat Kelly's stable star will face a strong field of 11 rivals in the Grade 2.
Powerhouse trainer Willie Mullins is responsible for six runners, with Gordon Elliot running four.
The news will delight Gowran chief Eddie Scally who says he expects a bumper attendance as race fans turn up to catch a rare glimpse of the horse trained by secretive Kelly.
Scally said: "It has been chucking it down here and we're due more rain.

Gowran are already expecting a good turn out on their biggest day of the year with a card featuring the Thyestes Chase ... but Scally said: "It means everything to us for Presenting Percy to run. He's the most popular horse in Ireland right now.
"When he ran against Our Duke in the Red Mills Chase last year we had our biggest attendance on that day since the days of Danoli."
Trainer Kelly said: "Presenting Percy has been ready to run for a while now.
"We will walk the course and see."
