BULLY'S BANKERS

Best horse racing tips for today’s action at Leopardstown, Lingfield, Sandown, Chelmsford and Kempton from Tom Bull

Don't miss out on Tom Bull's best bets at Saturday's meetings

I'M absolutely thrilled Sandown has beaten the cold snap - the ground staff need a pay rise and a slap-up meal.

So do I, as it happens. I'm craving a bacon sarnie almost as much as a Saturday choc full of winners.

1

Lingfield

1.45 Kachy/2.55 Wissahickon double - This looks too good an opportunity to miss, with Kachy having shown himself to a very smart operator under these conditions.

Following a wind op, he was a brilliant winner of a similar contest at Wolves and should have too much early gas provided he can get out nicely from stall 8.

He should have no trouble doing the business, and the same can go for Wissahickon, who still looked a horse with more to give when winning by over two lengths in Listed company last time.

He'd had 84 days off the track then so should strip fitter and he can defy the penalty.

Chelmsford

3.40 Philamundo - It takes a good one to come from last to first at Chelmsford and he's done just that on his last two starts at the track.

The handicapper hasn't ignored him, raising him another 6lb for his victory last month, but the way he's been winning suggests he has plenty more left in the tank.

A blip in between the two wins can be ignored as Lingfield clearly didn't agree with him, and back at this track he looks the one to beat.

Leopardstown

3.45 Le Richebourg - It'll take a good one to lower the colours of Joseph O'Brien's talented chaser, who so well in top company over Christmas.

His only defeat over fences so far came behind star Delta Work over a longer trip - and he arguably would have won had the distance been shorter.

He looks a class act over the minimum and can advertise his Arkle claims.

Bully's Saturday Bankers

Sandown 2.25 - Defi Du Seuil

Lingfield 2.55 double - Kachy/Wissahickon

Chelmsford 3.40 - Philamundo

Leopardstown 3.45 - Le Richebourg

Kempton 4.45 - Lion Hearted

Sandown

2.25 Defi Du Seuil - The trip is a slight concern here but provided he stays, Philip Hobbs' chaser could be a very tough nut to crack.

His hurdles form is the best of these and he's looked a revelation on his last two chase starts.

He was outstayed up the Cheltenham hill last time by the reopposing Lostintranslation but can get his revenge on this flatter track.

Kempton

4.45 Lion Hearted - If taking his chance after three quick runs, Mick Appleby's in-form candidate should prove way too strong in this basement grade.

He carries a 6lb penalty but that shouldn't hinder his chance as he has looked far ahead of his mark since starting off for his current trainer.

It's a reasonably competitive race for the grade but he should be far too good from a decent draw if taking his chance (ran last night).
